Thank you for using CompactCalendar (“we,” “our,” or “the app”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we handle. CompactCalendar is a widget app that displays your calendar events on the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
Your Calendar Data
CompactCalendar requests access to your device’s calendars so it can display your events inside its widgets.
- On-device only: Your calendar events are read directly from iOS and shown in the widget. They are never uploaded, stored on our servers, or shared with any third party.
- Display purposes only: Event titles, dates, and calendar colors are used solely to render the widget on your device.
- You stay in control: You can grant or revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars.
Information We Collect
CompactCalendar collects limited, anonymized data to keep the app working well and to improve it.
Analytics Data
We use a third-party analytics service to understand how the app is used in aggregate. This may include:
- Usage Data: Which features and screens are used, and general interaction patterns
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version
- Diagnostics: Crash reports and performance data that help us fix bugs
This data is not used to identify you personally and does not include the contents of your calendar.
How We Use Your Information
- App Functionality: To ensure the app and its widgets work properly
- Analytics: To understand how users interact with the app and decide what to improve
- Performance Improvement: To diagnose crashes and optimize performance
Third-Party Services
CompactCalendar uses the following third-party services, which may process data as described above:
- Google Analytics for Firebase — for anonymized usage analytics and crash diagnostics
- Apple — in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We never see or store your payment information.
Data Stored Locally
CompactCalendar stores the following data locally on your device, in the app’s container and shared app group:
- Widget settings: Your widget configuration and preferences
- Calendar selections: Which calendars each widget displays
This local data is not transmitted to our servers.
Your Rights and Choices
Calendar Access
You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars.
Delete Your Data
Because CompactCalendar does not store personal data on our servers, you can remove all app data simply by uninstalling the app from your device. All local data is removed automatically.
Children’s Privacy
CompactCalendar does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy.
Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect the data processed through third-party services. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
